Portugal smashes a big win at World Photography Contest 2017

The 2107 World Photographic Cup Photo Show at Grand International Hotel in Yokohama,Japan announced the winners. The team portugal has won the gold medal for the second time in a row. United States and Russia were announced second and third respectively. 26 national photographic teams entered the fourth edition of the Olympics-styled competition, from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America and Oceania. The results now make Portugal and the United States tied for most WPC wins at two each.

Gold Medal Winners in each Category are:

• Dusan Holovej (Slovakia) for the Commercial category.
• Antti Karppinen (Finland) for the Illustrative category.
• Pepe Soho (Mexico) for the Nature (landscape and wildlife) category.
• Eelena Malysheva (Russia) for the Portrait category.
• Goh Wee Seng (Singapore) for Reportage/Photo Journalism category.
• Lee Howell (United Kingdom) for the Wedding category.

The World Photographic Cup (WPC) was organized in cooperation with the Professional Photographers of Japan Association (PPJ) and is sponsored by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP), Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the United Asian Professional Photography (UAPP) and the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).Founded in the year 2013, the WPC's goal is to unite photographers in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.
