Silhouette Photography is also known as shadow photography. You don't have to worry about appearances and detailing in a Silhouette Photo. The Silhouette talks for itself, you can easily reciprocate to the emotions or mystery in a photo. The important thing to remember about Silhouette Photography is to make sure the background is brighter than the subjects or objects. If you 2 or 3 subjects, they should be apart, so the distinct lines and shapes are visible. To achieve the best Silhouette Photo, one has to trick their digital camera to under expose rather than over expose. What you have to do is: The camera should be pointed towards the bright portion in your background. the shutter should be pressed half-way down, don't press it yet. Take a note of the the aperture and shutter speed and manually set these readings on your dslr and shoot your picture. It should do the trick. Ideally you should have faster shutter speeds to take a Silhouette Photo. Keep trying and you will have interesting stories to tell us through your Silhouette Photography.
