Realistic still life painting demo - tutorial
Still life oil painting demonstration. A larger painting this time. I used a slow medium (3 parts linseed oil 1 part Graham Walnut Alkyd) so I could paint wet into wet for several days (during the night I put the painting in the freezer). In this way, the first 2 days the paint is very liquid and the 3d day it gets a bit sticky. This allows different techniques to be used each day. In the movie you can see how frequently I take the painting off the easel. As I painted in artificial light (in a darkened room), I often take it into day light to check if it looks ok.
