Crispin Porter Bogusky
Crispin Porter + Bogusky, a member of publicly-traded MDC Partners (MDCA)[1], is an advertising agency that currently employs around 1000 people.
The agency is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and Boulder, Colorado with additional offices in Santa Monica and London.[2] CP+B Europe[3] opened its doors in June, 2009 after acquiring Swedish agency Daddy, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. CP+B experienced rapid growth in the late 1990s and early 2000s, achieving notoriety on the strength of work for Burger King, BMW MINI, and anti-smoking campaign TheTruth.com.[4]
The agencys client list includes Burger King, Coke Zero, Microsoft,[5] Microsoft Windows Phone[6], American Express OPEN, Best Buy, Geek Squad, Guitar Hero, Brammo, Domino's, Old Navy and Gap. [7]
As an agency, they are known for using viral marketing techniques, including the Burger King Subservient Chicken campaign.[8] In September 2008 the agency created a high profile television spot for Microsoft featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates [9] which was such a resounding flop that they rushed to pull the ads from the airwaves, attracting an embarrassing amount of media attention.[10] The 'I'm a PC' campaign that followed fought back against Apple's Mac vs. PC campaign with moderate success.[11]
