Registration of the Third Underwater Photographer of the Year 2017 has been opened. The UPY has quickly become one of the more popular wildlife photo competitions aimed at marine life enthusiasts. The competition aims to bring the amazing world of underwater into your lens. Entry is open to all photographers. Two new categories have been added for the 2017 competition; aimed at underwater photographers from around the world,these new categories are Portrait andCompact.

Important Dates :
November 1st 2016 - Website opens for registration and entries to be submitted online
January 2nd 2017 - Closing date for all entries (midnight GMT), no other images will be accepted after this date
Ealry January 2017 - Images judged by Peter Rowlands (Chair), Martin Edge and Alex Mustard. All images entered into the competition will be seen by all three judges during our marathon two-day judging process
Mid January 2017 - Winners notified, prizes chosen and high res files sent for exhibition
Early February 2017 - Winners announced
Entry Fee : There are entry fees for the competition of £5 for a maximum of 3, £15 for up to 15 images, and £20 for the maximum of 20 images.
