Macphun, now known as Skylum has announced the latest version of its photo editing software Luminar. The update focusses mainly on the speed factor of the photo editor. Images, filters and the entire application sees speed in every aspect. Difference could be felt in each and every tool of the software which is often felt as a competitor for Lightroom. In windows Luminar finds a 5 times improved speed while on Mac it is 12 times when compared to the earlier version. There is six to seven times boost in filters like the golden hour filter, polarizer and dehaze. RAW imports speeds up to 4.6 times faster than previous version.

Luminar Jupiter updates now makes corrections for distortion, chromatic aberrations and removing fringes faster than ever. The RAW image conversion is much clearer with improved de-mosaic and green equilibration process which will enable accurate sky and shadows. Batch processing, easy transformations, localization support (Luminar in different languages), better cloning, cleaner zooms, full-screen preview mode, better masking controls, and the ability to share workspaces with other users are features added for Windows.

The existing users of Luminar 2018 can upgrade for free as jupiter update is part of it. Luminar 2017 owners can upgrade for $49 and new users can download the software for $69.
