Art of Building Photography Contest is open for entries up to 26 January 2021

Art of Building is an annual international photography competition run by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the competition attracts thousands of entries each year, as keen amateurs and experienced professionals battle for international recognition and two £1,500 cash prizes. This is a competition that celebrates buildings and the relationship people have with the built environment. If your photograph is selected as a finalist or is highly commended, it will be featured in public installations as the competition transforms construction hoarding spaces into art galleries. Last year’s winners included Alexandr Bormotin, from Ivanovo in Russia, who won the Public Choice Award with his futuristic image of a new underground train station in Moscow, entitled Metro station. Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz, a professional photographer from northern Spain, was awarded the Judges’ Prize for capturing Hemisferic, a science museum in Valencia, designed by Santiago Calatrava (pictured).

Eligibility

Age: Not specific. The competition is free to enter and open to anyone aged 18 or over.

Nationality: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Yemen

Instructions for submission

Art of Building is free to enter and entries are welcome from anywhere in the world.
Pictures can be taken on any style of equipment, but they must be in digital format.
Photos must be taken with a Sony camera.
Entries must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including, but not limited to, privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement.
Entries must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where entry is created.
Each Photo must not exceed 5MB in file size.

Prizes

The winners will be recognized on an International level and win two cash prizes of £1,500 each.
