2016 Emmy Awards nominees for Animation Category

Nominations for the 68th EMMY awards has already been announced and the winners will be announced on September 18th, 2016, which will be held in Los Angeles. Seven shows which were nominated in 2015, have been nominated agian for 2016 with a new entry 'Phineas and Ferb Last Day of Summer', along-with last year's entries: Archer, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and South Park. Cartoon Network is dominating the other category where it has four nominees: Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls, Robot Chicken, and Steven Universe. Spongebob Squarepants is the sole competitor which is not part of Cartoon Network, it part of nickleodon.

There are a few random animation-related nominees that came up in non-animation categories, like Honda’s “Paper” commercial (directed by PES) in the commercial category; the ABC TV special,' It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown!' in the children’s program category; and the Walt Disney installment of PBS’s American Experience in the writing for a nonfiction program category.
