Pongal Greetings: Thai Pongal (தை பொங்கல்) or Pongal (பொங்கல்) is one of the most popular harvesting festival of Tamil Nadu. It is usually celebrated between January 14th - 16th annually. The four day celebration is a great time for family gatherings and cooking food in the traditional style. Usually a new clay pot is decorated with turmeric sticks and new rice, dal and jaggery are boiled to make a sweet dish.
