Ron Mueck is an Australian sculptor, currently living in United Kingdom. Since 1996, Ron has been creating human sculptures and puppets for a reality based Tv show and films. He uses interesting materials like fiberglass, silicone and others to create his detailed sculptures. His human sculptures are sometimes mega-sized and at times palm sized. Ron Mueck was born in 1958 to German parents who were toy-makers. From his early childhood he was used to making puppets, costumes and during his free time, experimented with different kind of materials and techniques. All this has led to the world famous hyper realistic sculptor. He started his career as a model maker and puppeteer for children’s films (such as Labyrinth, The Storyteller and etc.). Later he was making photo-realistic props and animatronics for the advertising industry. In 1996 Mueck transitioned to fine art and in 1999 he was appointed as Associate Artist at the National Gallery, London. His 5 metre tall 'The Boy' was a huge success in 1999, it was quite popular for it's detailing, texture and emotions on the boy's face, which looks so realistic.
