Michael Balthazart’s Voile Noir - CG and live-action film

Prepare to be blown away. This technically brilliant student film, co-directed by ArtFX School students Michael Balthazart, Raphael Gaudin, Clément Granjon de Lépiney and Quentin Sauvinet, features awesome CG aircraft, cool effects and a great mix of live-action and CG.

In fact, when we first saw Voile Noir we couldn’t quite work out what was CG and what was shot, so we went in search of the answers to co-director Michael Balthazar…

And we found out: Voile Noir is composed of 60 shots; 17 of them are mixing CGI elements with live-action footage, the 43 others are full CGI shots.
