Local Convenience stores we see are mundane everyday objects for us but it is subject of creativity to Me Kyeoung Lee. Artist Me Kyeoung Lee has spent the last two decades documenting the tiny convenience stores characterized by distinctive façades, unique methods of display, and delightful little gardens. She illustrates the stores, which are now quickly disappearing, with a dedication to the small details that make each unique. Lee has converted her fond memories of childhood into memorable illustration which remind the young generation of their tradition. Lee uses acrylic pens and chooses to sketch each at noon to avoid hazy shadows of mornings and evenings. The Illustrations are so intricate that she gives importance to trees, whose foliage include pale pink blossoms, green and golden leaves and even ripe oranges. For Lee these simple stores, tiny establishments clearly have a special place in her heart.
