Cut out animation is a technique for producing animations using flat characters, props and backgrounds cut from materials such as paper, card, stiff fabric or even photographs. More complex figures depicted in cutout animation, such as in silhouette animation, often have joints made with a rivet or pin – or when made on a computer, an anchor. These connections act as mechanical linkage which have the effect of a specific, fixed motion. i hope you like these cut out animation videos,
60 sec. spot. Using hinged paper puppets in upright miniature sets, we created this spot over many months of art and toil. This is a stop motion piece shot with digital stills and finished with Adobe After Effects for compositing.
A tale of love, betrayal and one vengeful butterfly. Created using paper cutouts and articulated paper puppets, "La Petite Mort" capitalizes on the anti-realism inherent to this stop-motion technique to conjure a dreamlike atmosphere of pure fantasy. This project was inspired by the surreal animations of Lenica, Borowyck and Svankmajer, Japanese, and those strange, middle-of-the- night dreams one has after spicy food.
This is the story of a girl and her huge imagination.
Short film made in the traditional technique of cut-out paper puppets.

I wanted to make some infinite loops for istockphoto and I wanted to make a paper shader. The finished clips are actually only 4-5 seconds long but they can go on for ever. Then I felt like putting it all together for a little.. Mindfulness-short. Everything is straight out of cinema4d.
Most of the animation is hand drawn (the tree was drawn by hand then animated in Adobe After Effects). Once I had the animation drawn, I filled it all in with black marker, shot it, and brought it into Adobe After Effects and ran an auto trace on it to create that cutout effect.
Some people dream of sitting on a beach in Tahiti or sailing around the world. Benjamin's travel dream was to hitchhike around the USA for a year (his Nana thought it was a pretty curious dream as well). He wanted to meet people from all walks of life and learn about the world through a simple adventure. The video took 3 months to shoot and 2 years to create (although Benjamin's a hitchhiker and wasn't slaving away for 12 hours a day or anything :)
A hula hoop floats amidst a stunning location of México city. As it moves, a dancer appears and plays with the hoop. Every movement creates lines, impressive shapes and lights that float in the space as if being drawn to gradually create an impressive sculpture in movement.
