Bird Photographer of the Year Award 2016 - Participate and win £5,000

Bird Photographer of the Year brings nature and technology and photographers together for the betterment of each other. Photography is revolutionised with latest digital technology and thus results in some amazing images of perfect quality. Waiting for that perfect shot, when the bird is in flight, is quite a cumbersome wait for the photographers. It requires the photographer to have the least amount of movements, so they don't scare away the birds, thus ruining the moments. Bird Photographer of the Year is a venture between Nature Photographers Ltd and the British Trust For Ornithology.

The competition is open to residents of any territory and to entrants of all ages. There are eight categories to enter and two additional special awards, offering plenty of chances to win. With entry fees starting at £10 (£5 for Young Bird Photographer of the Year ), the competition is available to people who wish to submit anything from a single image to an extensive portfolio.

The photographer of the winning image will win a cash prize of £5,000 and the title ‘Bird Photographer of the Year’. Besides there are Portfolio Prizes of £2,000,the category prizes and 'Cameron Bespolka Young Bird Photographer of the Year' who will receive £350 and many more. The winners will be awarded in Rutland Birdfair 2017.Closing date for the competition is midnight on Wednesday 30 November 2016 GMT.
